Former Galveston city council member Joe Jaworski officially launched his campaign for mayor of Galveston in a speech to the Galveston Kiwanis Club on Wednesday.

Jaworski was introduced by D. Gail Rogers. [ Click here to listen ]

"We're all friends and we are all Galvestonians," Jaworski said, noting the recovery from Hurricane Ike. "We all know we have challenges ahead of us."

The election will be in May 2010.
